You are here:  Home / International Students

A variety of FAA programs are available for international students and most can be individually tailored for each student. We can also help guide you with housing arrangements for you so your stay and training in the US goes smoothly.

You will need a TSA security clearance. TSA charges $130 plus fingerprinting costs, and TakeFlight charges an additional $100 for processing TSA clearances.

TSA will require at least a B1/B2 visa. We do not provide I-20s or visas. You can apply for a B1/B2 here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html

Please contact us for specific estimates.

*This is a sample course for estimating training costs and includes the FAA Part 61 minimum required 40.0 hours of flight time (average students complete in about 50 hours) Housing is not provided by TakeFlight – this is an estimate only.

**TSA approval is required prior to beginning flight training. Usually takes about 2 weeks. A tourist/business visa is usually sufficient for most students – see FAQ section

*** Payments are on a pay as you go basis. You may pay incrementally as your training progresses! In other words, no large sums up front! A small deposit may be required if large blocks of airplane & instructor time are booked concurrently
